Historical Notes
The club was founded in 1957 as Kampala City Council FC and has undergone a number of name changes since then. It was renamed Kampala City Council Athletics Club in 1975, and then again to Kampala City Council FC in 1978. In 1982, the club was renamed again, this time Kampala City Corporation FC. In 2001, the club was finally given its current name, KCCA FC.
The club has won the Uganda Premier League title a record 17 times, and the Uganda Cup on 10 occasions. They also won the Ugandan Cup in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015, and 2016. In continental competitions, KCCA FC won the CECAFA Club Cup in 2008 and 2012. The club has won a record 15 Ugandan Premier League titles, a record 18 Ugandan Cups, and a record 9 Ugandan Super Cups. In continental competitions, the club has won the CECAFA Club Cup twice and reached the final of the CAF Champions League in 1978.
